On Friday, December 6, 2024, we celebrated the remarkable 2024 graduates of the Executive Directors of Color Institute (EDCI). Gathered under the inspiring theme, We Are the Ones We’ve Been Waiting For, this year’s Graduation Luncheon is a powerful reminder of the strength, leadership, and vision these leaders bring to our communities.
EDCI, founded in 2011, is a transformative two-year program housed within the Black Resilience in Colorado Fund, dedicated to strengthening and building the leadership pipeline of leaders of color. The program’s evolution is deeply rooted in the investment, feedback, and culture built by its participants, whose experiences and insights shape EDCI’s continued growth and impact. It supports the development of leaders of color and builds the capacity of their organizations. With over 200 alumni to date, the program continues to amplify leadership and drive equitable change. This year’s graduating class, consisting of 15 outstanding leaders, is a testament to the power of resilience, collaboration, and vision.
The success of EDCI is made possible through the critical co-investment of philanthropic partners like the Colorado Trust and the Colorado Health Foundation. Their support and others ensure these leaders have the resources they need to strengthen their efforts and make lasting impacts in their communities. Supporting EDCI is an investment in communities leading and building strong, resilient, and equitable futures.
As graduates, they step forward as changemakers and architects of a more equitable and inclusive future. Their journeys embody the truth that we each hold the power to lead transformational change—not tomorrow, but today.
To the 2024 graduates: You are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Your courage, commitment, and compassion inspire us all. We cannot wait to see the impact you will continue to make in your communities and beyond.
Congratulations, Class of 2024—this is just the beginning of your incredible legacy.
