As we countdown to Black Philanthropy Month, an August celebration deeply rooted in Black communities' giving traditions and heritage, we reflect on the importance of sharing our 5Ts - time, talent, treasure, ties, and testimony. Giving within our communities is not just an act of charity but a testament to our resilience and commitment to collective progress.
The Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Fund has been a beacon of hope and change for the past four years. Because of the generosity of our community, BRIC has mobilized over $5 million in resources and support to almost 400 Colorado Black-led and serving nonprofits—strengthening leaders, building communities, and impacting community-identified issues. And our journey continues. This work is critical and slow, but it is paramount to create the change that WE wish to see in OUR communities.
BRIC aims to be a perpetual resource for Colorado Black communities, supported by continued allyship and growing donor investments. Our evolution with varied support from The Denver Foundation has been pivotal in our efforts to grow sustainable internal and external structures, support, and relationships.
As we honor our heritage and look towards a future of equity and justice, let us continue to embody the spirit of philanthropy. Your support is not just an investment; it is a commitment to building a brighter tomorrow for all. Let's celebrate our strength, resilience, and generosity—making a meaningful impact, BRIC by BRIC. Join us in celebrating Black Philanthropy Month throughout August by supporting BRIC’s work. Up to $100,000 will be matched for every dollar given.
